Maintaining the Status QuoBased on a few comments on a survey I wanted to publish in a booklet, it becomes readily apparent that people would rather protect or continue the status quo (traditions, in my book) than to search the Word and try to answer the questions as best as they can. They'd rather choose to remain ignorant and not confront pointed questions that may reveal their erroneous positions.
Christ came to set people free - free from spiritual and physical bondage. He who sets free is free indeed!
Knowing the truth will set you free. You don't have to worry about 'protecting the church' from 'one or two persons' trying to 'destroy it'.
If something is of God no one can prevail against it. The truth will prevail because it is of God. God's Word will not come back to Him empty.
